We’re not picky on topics, but we do have a few pointers. We’re not worried about what you write as long as it’s tasteful and coherant. We’re into what we like to call “Double Depth.” That is, poetry with a literal meaning and additional depth (be it figurative or otherwise). Far too often poetry attempts to be abstract at the expense of being literal. We don’t want obscure stuff that has to be deciphered. If we don’t ‘get it’ we don’t want it. Poetry shouldn’t be inaccessible to the masses in order for it to be of value. Give us something we can read without scratching our heads or having to invent connections. If we can appreciate writing at face value, it will compel us to look deeper.
We don’t claim any rights whatsoever and we’re not bothered in the least by concurrent or multiple submissions. Although, if you are accepted elsewhere, let us know so we can brag about you. We simply want people to be recognized because although there’s a lot of junk out there, we retain the hope that not all the world’s great poets died a hundred years ago.
If you submit something without a name it will not be published. If you submit something without a title, we will make one up. If you submit without a website, that’s fine.
Unless you write something absolutely-freaking-fabulous but still manage to have spelling and grammar mistakes somewhere: we are not your editor. We’re busy and poor just like you. Most likely, if you haven’t taken the time to proof it beforehand, we won’t take the time to publish it.
There is a difference between good literature and great writing. Chances are we publish the latter.
All authors that Indood publishes will receive a complimentary copy of “Indood Inprint” of the issue in which their work appears.
